Swing Dance Adelaide’s Island Hop! 2021
In early 2020, shortly after the devastating bushfires that ravaged Kangaroo Island, we planned a weekend swing expedition to help bring some tourism dollars and good vibes to the island. Unfortunately we were unable to make it, due to COVID restrictions.
We re-organised the trip for 5 – 7 February 2021 – our inaugural swing dancing getaway, with extra time up our sleeves to venture around the island.
It turned out to be a very special event, centered around a community taster class (thanks to Matty and Laura from Swing Out Adelaide) and party at the Kingscote Town Hall. It was wonderful to laugh and dance with everyone who came along, and to journey around the island, seeing the incredible wildlife and natural wonders on offer, as well sampling (perhaps a little too much, but then again – never enough) the beautiful food, wine, spirits and cider.
Perhaps the best though, was seeing new shoots, as the ecosystem bounces back.
