Swing Dance Adelaide is proud to announce the return of Fancy Feet with international guest swing dance teachers, Peter Flahiff and Lauren Smith from Seattle, USA. Fancy Feet will be returning on the weekend of October 15 & 16th, 2022 in Adelaide, SA.

The weekend will contain a full day of workshops in Balboa and Collegiate Shag followed by an evening social dance. Classes will be for all dancers with some partner dancing experience whether you are new to these styles or more advanced. The intermediate class will build on the all levels class and stretched more experienced dancers. Sunday will be available for private lessons with Peter & Lauren during their stay in Adelaide.

10:00 am – 11:15 pm: All Levels Collegiate Shag
11:30 am – 12:45 pm: Intermediate Collegiate Shag
2:00 pm – 3:15 pm: All Levels Balboa
3:30 pm – 4:45 pm: Intermediate Balboa
7:00 pm – 11:00 pm: Social dance featuring living musing from Monsieur Swing.
10:00 am -5:00 pm: Private Lessons on request – all styles, all levels.

All activities on Saturday will be held at the Walkerville Town Hall.

There is car parking on site and bus stops for busses 206, 208, 281 (and variations) across the road. Walkerville Terrace has a number of food and beverage options available during the day.
The Walkerville Town Hall is a no-alcohol venue. Bring your Food and nibbles are welcome.
Private lessons with the instructors will be held in North Adelaide. The address will be provided on booking.
The Saturday night social will feature live music from Monsieur Swing, nola jazz troupe from Adelaide who play a mixture of standard and original compositions heavily influenced by the French Manouche style.
Manouche players like Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelli serve as a musical point of departure as the group borrow from other styles such as Classical, Jazz, Balkan and Romani music, creating a sound that has been described as ‘soulful nola jazz’.
Please be advised that this is a COVID-safe event:
- We require attendees to be able to show proof of vaccination for at least 2 COVID vaccinations.
- Masks will be required when entering, exiting, and moving around the venue, and they will be recommended during class. Please be aware that the teachers will be wearing masks and may choose not to dance with unmasked participants. If you are comfortable wearing a mask while dancing, please do so to respect our guests’ wishes.
